I found out about this booktag a few days ago and tought it would be perfect to make a balance of my reading year so far.
1. Best book you've read so far in 2020
First question and was already a hard one, I tought about the books I gave 5 stars to and the ones I gave 4.5 stars but that really meant a lot to me but ended up thinking that this book deserves this spot. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Allire SΓ‘enz was the first book I read this year and it might have made it feel like I read it ages ago but was definitely a great book. I cried and laughed and fell in love with this story.

2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2020
I've read like 3 sequels this year but I think that this, Predikanten by Camilla LΓ€ckberg, was my favourite (probably together with The Raven King by Nora Sakavic). I missed thrillers so much that when I was reading this one I felt only joy. I can't wait to keep reading the FjΓ€llbacka series.

3. New release you haven't read yet but want to
I love One Of Us Is Lying and Two Can Keep A Secret by Karen M.McManus, and both books are connected to amazing trips I had. So when One Of Us Is Next finally came out in Portugal we were on quarantine and I just didn't imagine myself reading it on my bed when the other two books were part of some of my best moments.
But right now I can't wait to buy it and read it honestly.

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
I usually don't know nothing about what books will be released and when but I was on Goodreads adding books to my never ending TBR and came across this one that imediatly caught my attention so I am waiting for September to get my hands on this beauty.

5. Biggest disappoitment
In the video I made for instagram I feel like I couldn't explain my thoughts on this book correctly, maybe the post I did before about it explains them better.
The thing is the beggining is interesting but then I just feel so bad about these characters and most of them decisions and relationships and quite a few times I feel like they are just being dumb, i don't know, I can't identify with the story neither find it interesting enough.
I want to watch the tv series anyway because for what I seen so far I think I will like it much more.
PS: This place could perfectly be taken by City Of Bones By Cassandra Clare but I only read like 10% of the book so I thought it wouldn't be fair).

6. Biggest surprise
I am not much of a fantasy fan but since I saw this book for the first time I loved the concept, but when I finally got it I kind of regreted it. I read a few not so good reviews from fantasy fans and I was like "Ok, I definitely won't like it!". Then I picked it up for the Make Your Myth Taker readathon because was the only one that fitted one of the prompts and wow, I liked it a lot. I really want to read the entire series.

7. Favourite new author
This place will have to be occupied by two authors, first Nora Sakavic, because the All For The Game trilogy conquered my heart and I can't be thankful enough to Nora for having wrote these amazing books.
In second I have to mention Alice Oseman because I loved the Heartstopper books but I also think I would like her other books so they were my discoveries of 2020 so far.
8. Newest fictional crush
Without a doubt ANDREW MINYARD from the All For The Game trilogy. I loved my fucked up, apathic boy!
9. Newest favourite character
Sorry not sorry but Andrew Minyard once again, but I'll add some other characters from these books like Neil Josten, Kevin Day or Renee Walker.
10. Book that made you cry
I cried during the entire book pretty much but I loved it, is just so sad and so good at the same time.

11. Book that made you happy
The amout of amazing moments this book gave me π What an amazing 2020 this book offers and this characters aaaaaaaa they have my heart!

12. Most beautiful book you've bought so far this year
I was waiting for the price to drop on the US edition and one day was on book depository and found out that the UK edition was about to be released and the price was cheaper like what an amazing deal. Because this cover is 100 times better that the other two.

13. What books do you need to read by the end of the year
El Silencio De La Ciudad Blanca and La Chica Invisible are both books that I instantly fell in love with. I bought them right when I saw them and then for some reasons let them on my shelves unread but I want to change it because I have huge expectations for both.

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you can also check my video I did for instagram with this tag.
Love, Joana
